RENEWING LEADER POSITIONS

Leader positions need to be renewed every five years

Generally, it is expected that leaders have completed training modules (and so have Wood Badge) by then. However, that does not always occur.

Usually position renewal coincides with DBS renewal, as this was done at the time of starting as a leader.

TRAINING ETC NEEDED

In order to renew a leader position, the following are needed to be done or renewed:

1. First Aid: normally First Response course, but similar courses may be possible

2. Safety and Safeguarding. These are courses outside the "initial" training modules. They are each half day courses or can be done on line: (click here)

3. DBS renewal.

4. Ongoing learning: 5 hours learning something new, relevant to your leader role. Click here for more information.
