Douthwaite Cub Pack,
meets on Wednesdays and is for children from 8 to 10 and a half years. |
 |
The Pack has weekly meetings, which are a mixture of games, and activities. These
will mainly be based in our Group Headquarters, but occasionally may be
elsewhere, for example for visits. These range for competitions and
challenges to cooking sausages over a wood fire. The boys learn teamwork and
skills as well as having a great time in a safe environment. There are loads of fun things that you can do as a Cub Scout. You will get a
chance to try lots of different activities like swimming, music, exploring,
computing and collecting. If you do them properly you will get a badge which you
can wear on your uniform. |
 |
There is a
range of badges for Cubs to get, covering such things as outdoor
skills (camping, exploring ) and various hobbies or pastimes, as well as useful
stuff like first aid. The Pack is divided into sixes (maximum
six boys) with a sixer (older cub) in charge. This provides opportunities for
boys to do things in small teams with cooperation.
The Pack, like
the rest of the Group, makes use of the Wick woodland and field. These are
directly behind our Group Headquarters and provide a great area for outdoor
Scouting, especially during the summer months. The woodland is good for
exploring and "wide games", as well as a bit of nature!
Most Summer meetings are likely to be outdoors.

The Pack includes at least one "Nights Away" activity during the year, such as a
weekend camp, using the Group's extensive equipment.
